Obama Leadership Capacities

The moral purpose of Barak Obama can be seen from his inaugural speech. President Obama (2009) said, “With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come.” He has given hope and acknowledged the tough times in future. In addition, he has effectively utilized strategies to mobilize people and earn their trust. He has made clear to the American public their role and his duty during his tenure in the Whitehouse.

Obama during the Super Tuesday speech Obama (2008) said, “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or we wait for some other time, we are the ones we have been waiting for”. He has clear vision and is leading our nation with emphasis to make a change and adopt it with optimism.

Obama has established great relationships around the world in a very short time. President Obama remarked (2009), “And so to all the other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.” Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize is the recognition of his extraordinary efforts to strengthen the international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.

Obama (2009) stated that principles of justness of our cause, humility, and restraint must be at the heart of future interactions with and among nations. He reaches out to the people on an individual level and encourages them to build strong communities and share the knowledge.

Leadership Qualities of President Obama

Barack Obama has convinced sixty three million people that he has ability to lead and govern the country by virtues of getting their votes. American people rate Barack Obama most highly for his leadership skills. According to Gallup, Seventy-two percent say he "is willing to make hard decisions," and 66% describe him as "a strong and decisive leader.

Obama’s turning points in his life was in his early childhood when attended school in Jakarta Indonesia. When he was 10 years old, his mother sent him back to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents. His unique schooling provides him connections to millions of people across multiple continents. He is the only president who can claim roots and heritage in many continents.

Unfortunately Obama is not immune affects of failures. His divorced parents and not being part of single-family unit made him about his ethnicity and race. He can relate to issues of diversity and multiculturalism. I believe his family background enhances his understanding of international politics.

Barack Hussein Obama

Barack Hussein Obama was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is the son of black Kenyan immigrant and white woman from Kansas. Obama’s parents separated when he was two years old and later separated. His mother married Lolo Soetoro and moved to Jakarta Indonesia. Obama attended schools in Jakarta, when he was 10 years old, his mother sent him back to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents.

Obama grew up in Hawaii and completed his high school. After high school, Obama graduated from Columbia University in New York with degree in political science. He worked in the industry for two years and then worked as a community organizer for low-income residents of Roseland and Altgeld Gardens.

Obama headed small civil right firm in Chicago and later entered politics. In the Illinois state legislature, he developed a reputation for bipartisanship. As a senator, American public have high hopes from him. We believe that he can bring Democrats and Republicans closer and ease a racial and religious tension that exits all around the world.

As a noble prizewinner and president of the United States, Obama has mesmerized of billions of people around the world. I choose to write about him because of his character, global vision, educational background, family values, humbleness and his ability to empower others. I admire is strength to make good sound decisions and take full responsibility for any positive or negative consequences. He has done a great job leading our nation in these tough economic crises.
